General Questions

Maloney's Moving LLC was founded in 2023 by Gregory Maloney, who brings 22+ years of professional moving experience to every job. Though the company is newer, the expertise behind it is not.

We serve all of South Jersey including Gloucester County, Camden County, Burlington County, Salem County, and Atlantic County — over 160 towns total. Call us at (856) 223-7940 to confirm your specific location.

Yes. We are fully licensed by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (NJ Public Movers License #39PM00502700) and carry full liability and cargo insurance. We are also USDOT registered (#4437634).

Yes. We offer free, no-obligation estimates by phone, text, or in person. Call or text (856) 223-7940 and we'll give you an honest, accurate range for your move.

We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially for weekend moves and end-of-month dates which fill up fast. That said, we do accommodate last-minute and same-day moves when availability allows — just call us.

Services & Pricing

Moving costs depend on the size of your home, the number of movers needed, distance, and any specialty items. We charge hourly rates with no hidden fees. The best way to get an accurate number is to call us for a free estimate at (856) 223-7940. We always estimate on the higher end so you're never surprised.

We offer residential moving, commercial moving, packing and unpacking, labor-only service (you provide the truck), specialty item moving (pianos, safes, antiques), furniture delivery and assembly, and same-day/emergency moves throughout South Jersey.

We charge from the time our crew departs our location to the time they return. Travel time to and from your job is included in the hourly rate. We are transparent about this upfront — no surprises.

Yes, we have a minimum charge to cover crew and truck time. This will be communicated clearly in your estimate before you book.

We accept cash, Zelle, and major credit/debit cards. Cash payments receive a discount. Electronic payments are subject to a small processing fee. Payment is due at completion of the move.

Yes. Our crew can pack your entire home, select rooms, or just specific items like fragile or high-value belongings. We bring all necessary materials — boxes, bubble wrap, tape, paper, and more.

Scheduling & Timing

Yes. We operate Monday through Saturday, 7AM–7PM. Weekend availability books quickly — we recommend reserving your date early.

We schedule morning slots (typically 8–9AM start) and afternoon slots. We provide an arrival window and call or text when we're on our way.

A 1-bedroom apartment typically takes 2–4 hours. A 3-bedroom house may take 5–8 hours. Factors like stairs, long carries, elevators, packing needs, and specialty items all affect timing. We'll give you a realistic range when you get your estimate.

You pay for the actual time worked at the agreed hourly rate. We never rush or cut corners to hit a time target — we do the job right. Our estimates are intentionally conservative so that finishing faster is a pleasant surprise for you.

We do our best to accommodate your preferred date. Book early for peak times (weekends, end of month, summer). Call (856) 223-7940 to check availability.

Preparation & Packing

Disassemble any furniture you want broken down. Make sure walkways and doorways are clear. Have boxes sealed and labeled. Confirm parking access for our truck. Disconnect any appliances being moved. Have your payment method ready. The more prepared you are, the faster and cheaper your move will be.

Ideally yes, especially for heavy wood dressers being moved upstairs or into tight spaces. Lighter dressers with soft clothing items are generally fine with contents inside. We'll advise on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, we require a responsible adult to be present at both the pickup and delivery locations to authorize the work and confirm placement of items.

We recommend personally packing medications, important documents (passports, birth certificates, financial records), jewelry, cash, and irreplaceable personal items. Keep these with you during the move.

Yes. When you book packing services, we bring all necessary materials. If you're packing yourself, we can also sell boxes, tape, and bubble wrap.

Label every box with the destination room and a brief contents description (e.g., "Kitchen — pots and pans"). Mark fragile boxes clearly on the top and all sides. This helps our crew work faster and place things correctly.

Specialty Items

Yes. We have experience moving upright pianos, baby grands, and grand pianos. Specialty item pricing applies. Let us know the type and size when you call for your estimate.

Yes, with advance notice. Pool tables require partial disassembly and professional handling. Call us to discuss the specifics of your table.

Yes. We move gun safes of all sizes. Heavy safes may require special equipment and additional crew. The safe must be empty of firearms and ammunition at time of move.

Yes. We take extra precautions with high-value and fragile items. Let us know in advance so we can bring appropriate materials and assign experienced crew members.

Hot tub moves are evaluated case-by-case. Sheds require advance assessment. Call us to discuss your specific situation.

Insurance & Protection

We carry full liability insurance and motor truck cargo insurance. Basic valuation coverage is included in your move. Enhanced coverage options are available — ask about this when booking.

We handle your belongings with care and take damage very seriously. If damage occurs, report it immediately at delivery. All claims are handled according to the terms of your Bill of Lading and service agreement. We are a licensed, insured company and we stand behind our work.

Some homeowner's policies include limited moving coverage — check with your insurer before your move date. We recommend not relying solely on this coverage.

Items packed by the owner (PBO boxes), items of extraordinary value not declared in advance, and pre-existing damage are typically excluded. Ask us about full valuation coverage for peace of mind.

Day of Move

Payment ready, all boxes sealed and labeled, large furniture clear of small items, appliances disconnected, parking space secured for the truck, and a contact number where we can reach you if needed.

Tips are never required but always appreciated. If your crew did a great job, $20–$40 per mover is a common and generous tip for a standard move.

We move rain or shine. Our crew uses moving blankets, plastic wrap, and shoe covers to protect your belongings and your home. Extreme weather situations are handled on a case-by-case basis.

No. For insurance and liability reasons, only our crew members ride in the moving truck.

The clock starts when our crew arrives at your location. If additional preparation is needed on our end, that time is billable at your hourly rate. We strongly recommend being fully ready before our scheduled arrival.

Storage & Special Situations

We do not operate our own storage facility. We can refer you to trusted local storage partners in South Jersey if needed.

Yes — we can move your belongings into a storage unit today and deliver to your new address when you're ready. Call us to coordinate logistics.

Yes. We handle offices, retail spaces, and small business relocations throughout South Jersey. We work around your schedule including weekends to minimize business disruption.

Yes. We work with seniors and their families with extra patience and care. We can also help coordinate donation pickups or junk removal for items not coming with you.

Please give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations within 48 hours of the move may forfeit any deposit paid. Rescheduling is accommodated based on availability.

Items We Cannot Move

We cannot transport hazardous materials, flammable liquids, propane tanks with fuel, paint, chemicals, ammunition, or perishable food. These are DOT and insurance restrictions, not personal policy.

We can move plants locally but cannot guarantee their condition during transport. Long-distance plant moves are not recommended as temperature and handling can cause damage.

Propane tanks must be fully empty before we can transport them. Gas grills with disconnected and empty tanks are fine. Full propane tanks cannot be placed in an enclosed truck.
